AGON by AOC innovates with Dual-Frame technology

AGON by AOC, the world’s leading gaming monitor brand, has announced the launch of its latest innovation: the AOC GAMING U27G4R, a 27-inch gaming display featuring the industry-first Dual-Frame technology. This cutting-edge monitor allows gamers to seamlessly switch between ultra-sharp UHD resolution at 160 Hz and blazing-fast FHD at 320 Hz, eliminating the age-old compromise between visual fidelity and competitive performance.
But that’s not all — AGON by AOC is expanding its popular G4 series lineup with three additional models, designed to meet the diverse needs of modern gamers, whether they’re content creators, esports professionals, or casual players.
Dual-Frame Tech: The Best of Both Worlds
The headline-grabbing feature of the U27G4R is its Dual-Frame technology, a display innovation that bridges the gap between cinematic visuals and high-performance esports experiences. In UHD 3840×2160 at 160 Hz, users can enjoy breathtaking image clarity at 163 PPI, ideal for visually rich, immersive games and content creation. Flip the switch to FHD 1920×1080 at 320 Hz, and it delivers the ultra-smooth, ultra-responsive experience competitive gamers demand.
Built around an advanced Fast IPS panel, the U27G4R delivers exceptional color accuracy and responsiveness with DisplayHDR 400 certification, covering 124.7% of the sRGB color gamut and 95.9% of DCI-P3. Response times are equally impressive, with 1 ms GtG in both modes and even faster MPRT times of 0.5 ms in UHD and 0.3 ms in FHD when using MBR (Motion Blur Reduction).
Esports-Focused Features and Modern Ergonomics
AGON by AOC didn’t stop at panel specs. The U27G4R comes loaded with gamer-centric features, including:
- Low Input Lag Mode for immediate feedback
- Shadow Control for brighter dark scenes
- Game Colour for adjustable saturation levels
- Dial Point, an on-screen crosshair overlay for FPS titles
The display supports both AMD FreeSync Premium and NVIDIA G-SYNC Compatible technologies, while VRR (Variable Refresh Rate) ensures smooth performance with next-gen consoles at UHD 120 Hz.
In terms of connectivity, the monitor is equipped with 2 x HDMI 2.1 ports, 1 x DisplayPort 1.4, and a USB 3.1 hub with four downstream ports for peripherals. Ergonomics are well-considered too, with a height-adjustable stand (up to 130 mm), swivel, tilt, and pivot functions, all wrapped in a sleek, matte black chassis with subtle red accents.
Expanding the G4 Lineup
AGON by AOC is also introducing three more G4 series models. AOC GAMING CU34G4: a 34-inch ultrawide curved monitor (3440×1440, 180 Hz) featuring a 1500R Fast VA panel, 2500:1 contrast ratio, 1 ms GtG, and AMD FreeSync Premium. AOC GAMING 24G4HA and 27G4HA: updated versions of the best-selling 24G4X and 27G4X, these now offer a 200 Hz refresh rate (up from 180 Hz) while retaining their ergonomic stands, built-in speakers, NVIDIA G-SYNC Compatible certification, and high-speed Fast IPS panels.
A Game-Changer for Multi-Purpose Gaming Setups
César Acosta, Product Manager for AGON by AOC, summed up the U27G4R’s mission: “We wanted to remove the trade-off between resolution and refresh rate. With this monitor, gamers can dive into stunning UHD visuals or switch to ultra-fast FHD for competitive edge — all with one seamless adjustment.”
Availability: The new models, including the U27G4R, are expected to hit European shelves starting May 2025, with global rollouts to follow.
