Samsung Unveils the World’s First 500Hz OLED Gaming Monitor

Samsung Electronics has officially raised the bar in gaming displays with the launch of the Odyssey OLED G6, the world’s first OLED gaming monitor to feature a 500Hz refresh rate. Initially available in Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam, and Malaysia, this groundbreaking monitor will gradually expand to additional global markets later this year.
Pushing the Limits of OLED Gaming Performance
Building on its leadership in both the global gaming monitor sector and OLED gaming displays, Samsung is once again redefining the gaming experience. “Samsung continues to lead the gaming monitor industry with breakthrough innovations that redefine how games are experienced,” said Hoon Chung, Executive Vice President of Samsung’s Visual Display Business. “With the Odyssey OLED G6, we’re pushing gaming performance, visual quality, and immersion to entirely new heights.”
The 27-inch Odyssey OLED G6 (model G60SF) combines blistering speed and striking image quality. Featuring a 500Hz refresh rate, a lightning-fast 0.03ms (GTG) response time, and QHD (2560 x 1440) resolution powered by QD-OLED technology, this monitor ensures buttery-smooth gameplay with crisp, vibrant visuals — even during the fastest-paced, high-action scenes.
Premium Visuals and Pro-Grade Features
Certified with VESA DisplayHDR True Black 500, the Odyssey OLED G6 produces deep blacks and vivid colors for a visually stunning experience. It’s also equipped with both NVIDIA G-SYNC Compatible and AMD FreeSync Premium Pro support, ensuring tear-free visuals and seamless performance across a variety of hardware setups.
Designed for serious gamers, the monitor reaches a peak brightness of 1,000 nits and incorporates Samsung’s Glare Free technology, reducing distracting screen reflections even during marathon gaming sessions. Additionally, it includes OLED Safeguard+ to protect against burn-in, a common concern for OLED displays during extended use.
Color Accuracy You Can Trust
The Odyssey OLED G6 is Pantone Validated, offering professional-grade color accuracy with the ability to display over 2,100 Pantone colors and more than 110 SkinTone shades. This ensures that games appear just as their developers intended, with authentic and immersive visuals.
Why This Matters: The New Era of High-Refresh OLED Gaming
The debut of a 500Hz OLED monitor marks a significant leap forward for competitive gaming hardware. While 240Hz and 360Hz monitors have been gaining traction among esports professionals and enthusiasts, 500Hz represents the next frontier in display technology — particularly when paired with OLED’s perfect blacks, near-instantaneous pixel response, and superior color reproduction.
