TCL and F-Secure Partner to Embed Cybersecurity in Connectivity
- TCL and F-Secure have joined forces to integrate always-on cybersecurity into broadband and mobile connectivity devices.

At the Network X 2025 event, TCL announced a strategic partnership with cybersecurity firm F-Secure. The collaboration aims to embed advanced security features into TCL’s Fixed Broadband (FBB), Fixed Wireless Access (FWA), and Mobile Broadband (MBB) products. By combining TCL’s hardware expertise with F-Secure’s threat detection capabilities, the companies intend to offer users a more secure and seamless digital experience. This move reflects growing concerns over online safety and the increasing complexity of connected environments.
TCL’s broadband portfolio includes 5G AI-powered CPEs, Wi-Fi 7 mesh routers, and mobile Wi-Fi devices designed for both home and mobile use. These products are tailored to meet the demands of modern digital lifestyles, offering high-speed, low-latency connectivity. As cybersecurity threats escalate, consumer expectations have shifted—F-Secure reports that 81% of users now expect their internet providers to offer built-in protection. In 2024 alone, global scam-related losses reached $1.03 trillion, underscoring the urgency of integrated security solutions.
Embedded Protection Without Complexity
The partnership introduces F-Secure’s router-level security directly into TCL’s devices, eliminating the need for manual installation or configuration. This embedded approach provides continuous protection against malware, phishing, and data tracking, while also monitoring for abnormal device behavior. The system uses URL reputation analysis to block harmful websites and ensures privacy by preventing unauthorized data collection. Unlike traditional software-based solutions, this method offers proactive defense without compromising network performance.
A Shift Toward Network-Level Security
The TCL–F-Secure collaboration reflects a broader industry trend toward embedding cybersecurity at the network level. As smart homes and connected devices proliferate, router-based protection is becoming a preferred approach due to its ability to secure all devices on a network simultaneously. This model also aligns with telecom operators’ goals of offering value-added services without increasing user burden. With this partnership, TCL positions itself not only as a connectivity provider but also as a contributor to safer digital ecosystems.
