Practical Design for Professional Needs

Display specialist AOC has launched its Professional P4 monitor series, aimed at meeting the demands of contemporary work environments. The lineup includes two models: the 23.8-inch Full HD 24P4U and the 27-inch QHD Q27P4U, both designed to balance performance, connectivity, and user comfort. Each monitor features a 120 Hz refresh rate, USB-C support, and TÜV Eye Comfort certification, with hardware-based low blue light technology to reduce eye strain. These specifications reflect a growing need for reliable and health-conscious equipment in office settings.

Both models are equipped with TCO Certified generation 10 credentials and come with a five-year warranty, signaling a commitment to durability and sustainability. The monitors support HDMI and DisplayPort inputs, with the 24P4U also offering VGA for legacy compatibility. AOC’s approach combines modern features with practical considerations for long-term use. This makes the P4 series suitable for a wide range of professional applications.

Integrated USB Hub Enhances Usability

One of the standout features of the P4 series is its retractable USB hub, designed to improve workspace organization. Located discreetly in the lower bezel, the pop-out USB 3.2 hub offers one USB-A and one 15 W USB-C port for fast data transfer and device charging. When not in use, the hub retracts fully, preserving the monitor’s clean and minimalist appearance. Additional USB-A ports on the rear panel accommodate peripherals like keyboards and mice.

This design choice addresses common frustrations with hard-to-reach ports and cluttered desk setups. By integrating connectivity into the monitor itself, AOC streamlines access without compromising aesthetics. The hub’s 5 Gbit/s speed ensures efficient performance for connected devices. Such features are increasingly relevant in hybrid and multi-device work environments.

Comfort, Performance, and Sustainability

Both P4 models utilize IPS panels with Adaptive-Sync support and a 4 ms GtG response time, enabling smooth visuals during scrolling and video playback. The 120 Hz refresh rate contributes to reduced eye fatigue, which is especially beneficial during extended work sessions. Ergonomic adjustments include 150 mm height range, tilt (-5° to 30°), swivel (-180° to 180°), and pivot functionality, along with VESA 100×100 mm compatibility for flexible mounting. These options cater to diverse workspace configurations and user preferences.

In terms of environmental standards, the monitors meet Energy Star 8 requirements and support corporate sustainability goals. The extended warranty helps reduce electronic waste by encouraging longer product lifecycles. AOC positions the P4 series as a cost-effective solution for organizations prioritizing both performance and responsibility. Availability begins with the 24P4U, while the Q27P4U is expected to launch mid-September.

Monitor Ergonomics and Eye Health

Recent studies suggest that prolonged exposure to screens with low refresh rates and high blue light emission can contribute to digital eye strain. AOC’s inclusion of TÜV-certified low blue light and flicker-free technologies aligns with recommendations from occupational health experts. These features are particularly relevant in environments where users spend several hours per day in front of a monitor. As remote and hybrid work models persist, ergonomic and health-conscious design is becoming a standard expectation rather than a premium feature.
