From Mobile Success to Switch Adaptation
Kyoto-based PONOS Corporation confirmed that The Battle Cats Unite! has reached over 1.6 million cumulative downloads worldwide. The title is a reworked version of the company’s hit mobile game The Battle Cats, tailored for Nintendo Switch. Players can engage in cooperative play, building their “Cat Army” to conquer stages alongside a friend. The game supports both single-player and two-player modes with one copy.
The Switch edition includes three major stage sets: Empire of Cats, Into the Future, and Cats of the Cosmos. Additional content features Legend Stages and daily challenges, offering variety and difficulty. More than 350 Cats can be collected in-game without requiring extra purchases. Cooperative battles allow players to combine units and unleash the Boosted Cat Cannon for tactical advantage.
Update and Holiday Sale
A free update adds the “Heavenly Tower” stage, accessible after clearing the Empire of Cats “Moon” level. New enemy traits, including Zombies, appear in select stages, while the “Superfest” hero set expands capsule options. Invasion stages such as “Clionel Ascendant” and “River Styx” provide further challenges once Heavenly Tower 10F is cleared. To mark the download milestone, PONOS will hold a global holiday sale offering the game at 30% off from December 15, 2025.
The Battle Cats franchise began as a mobile game in 2014 and has since built a dedicated global following. Its quirky art style and accessible gameplay contributed to its popularity across different age groups. The Switch adaptation reflects a broader trend of mobile titles transitioning to consoles with expanded features. This milestone highlights the enduring appeal of casual yet strategic multiplayer experiences in modern gaming.
