Xerox Holdings Corporation has unveiled the Xerox IJP900 Inkjet Press, signaling its return to the mid-volume cut-sheet inkjet segment. Designed for print service providers and in-plant operators, the press aims to support applications like transactional printing and direct mail while improving cost efficiency. The IJP900 integrates with Xerox’s broader production ecosystem, combining FreeFlow automation, XMPie personalization, and AI-driven analytics. These features help streamline job preparation and reduce operational overhead.

Technical Capabilities and Performance

The IJP900 delivers up to 150 pages per minute (A4) and supports monthly volumes between 250,000 and 1 million impressions. Its print engine offers resolutions from 600 x 600 dpi to 600 x 1200 dpi, using water-based pigment inks for consistent color and precise registration. Built-in features include automated printhead cleaning, dust removal, and duplex printing up to 360 gsm without requiring specialized infrastructure. The Fiery-powered EX IJP900 Print Server ensures accurate color reproduction and efficient workflow management.

Supporting a wide range of substrates from 52 to 360 gsm, the IJP900 accommodates plain, uncoated, super smooth, and inkjet-treated media. Oversized sheets up to 48 inches can be fed individually, expanding its versatility for custom jobs. Finishing configurations include booklet-making and hole-punching, allowing for end-to-end production without external equipment. Compact design and ease of deployment make it suitable for varied operational environments.

Market Debut and Availability

The IJP900 will be showcased publicly at PRINTING United in Orlando, Florida, from October 22–24, 2025, at booth 4521. Attendees will have the opportunity to view live demonstrations and explore its role within Xerox’s production print ecosystem. The press is currently available in North America, with international rollout plans to be announced later. Xerox’s reentry into this market reflects growing demand for scalable, automated inkjet solutions.

Strategic Return to a Growing Segment

Xerox’s decision to reenter the mid-volume inkjet space aligns with broader industry trends favoring modular, high-efficiency systems. The IJP900’s combination of speed, media flexibility, and workflow integration positions it competitively among emerging solutions. As print providers seek to diversify services and reduce turnaround times, such platforms offer practical advantages. The move also reinforces Xerox’s commitment to evolving its hardware portfolio in response to shifting market needs.
