Xiaomi 15T Series Debuts with Advanced Imaging Tools

- Xiaomi unveils the 15T and 15T Pro in Munich, featuring Leica optics, offline communication, and high-performance hardware for demanding users.
Xiaomi has introduced its latest flagship smartphones, the 15T and 15T Pro, during an international launch event in Munich. The new models mark a significant step forward for the brand’s T-series, combining refined design with advanced imaging capabilities and communication features. Both devices feature a triple camera system developed in collaboration with Leica, tailored for users who prioritize mobile photography. The launch reflects Xiaomi’s continued focus on integrating professional-grade optics and AI-powered enhancements into its premium offerings.
Leica Cameras and AI Imaging Platform
Each model includes a 50 MP main camera equipped with Leica Summilux lenses, optimized for low-light performance with wide apertures—ƒ/1.62 on the Pro and ƒ/1.7 on the standard 15T. The Pro version adds a Light Fusion 900 sensor and a dynamic range of 13.5 EV, enabling more accurate color and tone rendering. A Leica 5x Pro telephoto lens supports up to 20x Ultra Zoom, expanding versatility from landscape to macro photography. Front-facing cameras on both devices offer 32 MP resolution, supported by Xiaomi’s AISP 2.0 platform for enhanced portrait depth and color fidelity.
Video recording capabilities include 4K 30 fps HDR10+ across all focal lengths, while the 15T Pro supports cinematic formats such as 4K 120 fps and 4K 60 fps with 10-bit Log LUT. A new Master Portrait mode introduces bokeh effects like Wide and Bubbles, and Leica’s Street Photography mode enables instant access from the lock screen. The series debuts Xiaomi Astral Communication, allowing voice calls between devices without mobile or Wi-Fi networks—up to 1.3 km for the 15T and 1.9 km for the Pro. These features aim to improve usability in remote or signal-limited environments.
Display, Performance, and Durability
Both models feature a 6.83-inch 1.5K display with peak brightness of 3200 nits and accurate color reproduction. The 15T Pro offers a 144 Hz refresh rate, ultra-thin bezels, and advanced eye protection, while the 15T includes 120 Hz refresh and 3840 Hz PWM dimming to reduce eye strain. Powered by MediaTek Dimensity 9400+ (Pro) and 8400-Ultra (15T), the devices use Xiaomi’s 3D IceLoop cooling system for thermal management. Battery capacity stands at 5500 mAh, with fast charging options—90 W wired and 50 W wireless for the Pro, and 67 W wired for the standard model.
